If life was filled with darkness
And the world had no sun to shine
I choose to be the light around you
That radiates and flickers with time
For life is hard to live alone
And it is hard to see in the dark
So I choose to only give off light
I do not want anyone to be in the dark
In pitch black skies you may see stars
And in those few times you do not feel alone
I have sat under pitch black skies with no stars
And wondered where was my home
In the deepest of dark I dwelled before
And that burden was mines and mines alone
Yet I do not want anyone to venture the lands of dark that I visited
I want everyone to feel at home
So if light was filled with darkness
I hope to be the light for passersby
For I am grateful for every smile I see
While my smile just passes by
Till my heart beats its last
Till my lungs no longer push breathe
I will be the light for others
And I will try my very best
