Estrangement

If you have to be anyone but yourself

Perhaps you do not belong

For what is the the point in being in a room

If you can not enjoy the songs

Your eyes are covered

Yet you are blindly dancing in the room

The music stops each time you smile

You can show no emotion but gloom

Each person in the room greets you coldly

You see no glowing smiles

So why would you stay in a room

That makes you feel so down

A mask you could put on

And then you will fit right in

But why be someone you are not

Just so that you can dance?

Estranged: What to do if your child has rejected you

“Dance to the sound of your feet walking away from situations that are not for you. Life is more rewarding when you are true to yourself and who you are.” – Monica Renata
