Trust The Cup

You are thirsty
But you will not drink
You fear what’s in your cup

Dying of dehydration
But afraid to take a sip from your cup

I assure you it isn’t poison
Yet you will doubt me still
I swallow all of my confidence as if it were large lethal pills

A thirst that cannot be quenched
Because you do not trust me so

You are thirsty
But you will not drink
I see you wither in front of my eyes

Dying of dehydration
All because you do not trust I

A cup of water I gave to you
This cup of water was my last
Yet you will not take a sip because your trust I do not have
