Late Night Truths

Light fades to dark skies

Shoes removed from feet

The body finally sits down

Eyes hang low

I need some sleep

Intoxicated by a daily drug

A drug I can never beat

My walls can no longer surround me

My thoughts are vulnerable when I need sleep

In the stupor of my premature slumber

I say words I’d usually not say

I reveal my heart

I reveal my soul

I give my all in hopes that you take

Walls are temporary broken

My heart overcomes my pride and I speak the truth

Life is an intoxicating drug

And when I crashing down I confess my love to you
