An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth
Where does this leave us?
Does it bring us truth?
You punch me
Then I punch you
Does it solve anything?
Some people think that it do
But what is the purpose to act just the same?
Have hate in your heart
And then on others place the blame
They say do on to others as they do on to you
But were they speaking of violence
Or is this statement just not true
I slander your name
You slander mines
You break my heart
And you know my response
I will do everything that you do to me
It will not solve anything
But I will be happy…….
But why does the world seem to think like this?
Violence solves violence
This is what they honestly think
Whatever happened to turning the other cheek ?
Being the bigger person and keeping the peace
We seem to retaliate
When given no true purpose
Therefore we are no better than the so called monster
An eye for an eye
That’s what they always say
But I don’t understand how you can get rid of hate with hate
Maybe I am naive
Or maybe I just can’t see
But my heart breaks daily
Because all I want to see is peace
