Atmosphere

If I was standing on the edge of the atmosphere

And I only had one breath left

I would inhale it so deeply

Till my lungs burst in my chest

I would feel my body cringe

From pleasure and also pain

For that breath represents you in my life

Something I lost that I wanted to remain

Something that once helped me live

But now it is the reason I shall die

For you slowly weakened me

Held hostage by your love and my denial

But still when I’m given a choice

Each time I choose to breath

For you was once my life-force

But now you make it hard to breathe

No more pleasant dreams

Nothing but heartbreak in the air

For happiness use to float about

But now we live in this venomous atmosphere
